Wow!!
Incredible and consistent incoming power was seen from the awning.
I also had ( previously) fitted 4 x 170w fixed panels to the roof, totalling 680w.
But my system is set up so I can isolate and turn off the roof panels and just run and the input from the awning.
I did this on a number of occasions to see how it would handle the load of the air conditioner ( Dometic freshjet plus). And it consistently recorded figures of 900w input, this more than offset the draw from the air conditioner at a regular 780w.
At one point with partial sun and both the roof and the awning turned on the system recorded 1300w of power.
So potentially, if the sun is consistent, then the total system will provide more than enough power to run the air conditioner, the fridge and other accessories ( via the inverter of course) all day without using any battery reserve!
My system is all Victron.

Is the Solar Awning built to last?Absolutely! The Solar Awning has been rigorously roll-tested up to 10,000 cycles, ensuring durability and reliability even with frequent use. That’s equivalent to rolling it out and retracting it daily for nearly 30 years!

Will sitting under the Solar Awning feel hotter than other awnings?Not at all. Its thick black vinyl completely blocks sunlight, creating a cooler and more pleasant space compared to standard awnings.

How much power can it actually produce?The 16 ft solar awning can produce a peak of 1230 watts, and consistently up to 1050 watts of power under optimal conditions, providing ample energy for your off-grid needs. However partial or complete shade does effect the output like any other panel.

Can I add roof rafters to the Solar Awning?Yes, roof rafters can be added to the Solar Awning to provide extra support and reduce sagging. It’s a simple and effective upgrade for those who want a stiffer, more secure awning setup.

Can I use an anti flap kit?Yes, We have designed our Solar Awning to be compatible with most anti-flap kits. However this will require an affordable adaptor that we will announce soon.

Does it have a sail track?The unit does not include a built-in sail track. However, using plastic dual-lock Velcro to mount a side wall works effectively and allows for secure tensioning.

Is the solar awning compatible with my existing caravan/RV setup?The solar awning is designed to be universally compatible with most caravan and RV models. However, it's always a good idea to check specific compatibility requirements or consult with our support team. Note we only can provide flat hardware at this time. So if your van is rounded, packing is required to achieve a flat surface. Note at the moment were can only offer 12ft & 16ft versions.
